Voices from the Mountain

Welcome to Voices from the Mountain — a sacred space where only those who’ve climbed the mountain of prayer, fasting, and consecration speak. This podcast features uncompromised preaching from men who have been with God — not just in the valley of noise, but on the mountain of revelation.

These are not stage performers or polished celebrities — they are prophetic voices, watchmen, and shepherds who carry a word birthed in fire, holiness, and truth. From mountain pulpits to secret prayer closets, each episode delivers messages that pierce, heal, convict, and call the church back to her knees.

No hype. No compromise. Just raw anointing, biblical preaching, and the sound of heaven echoing from the high places.

In this Christmas message, Pastor Chad Levan reflects on the birth of Jesus through Luke 2, inviting listeners to imagine the tenderness of Mary holding the Son of God and the awe of the shepherds who first received the “good tidings of great joy.” He weaves together vivid imagery of shepherds guiding their flock, the role of Jesus as our true Shepherd, and the good news that Christ’s coming brings hope, cleansing, and new life. Moving through stories of Jesus’ ministry—from the blind man calling out for mercy to the woman pressing through the crowd to touch His garment—he emphasizes that the same Savior is present and available today. The sermon culminates in a heartfelt call to salvation, urging anyone burdened, backslidden, or searching to come to Christ, the One who washes sins “white as snow” and offers the greatest gift of all.

In “Why Are We Asleep?”, the preacher challenges the church to wake up spiritually and step out of darkness into the light of Christ. Centered in John chapter 1, the message reminds listeners that Jesus is not only the Savior who died at Calvary, but the very Light and Life sent by God Himself. While many profess faith, the church has grown complacent—content to sit in spiritual darkness, praise people more than God, and live inconsistently with what Christ has done. The sermon emphasizes that Jesus did far more than suffer on the cross; He left heaven, endured rejection, prayed for His enemies, and willingly bore what humanity could never carry. The call is urgent: if believers truly understood the depth of Christ’s sacrifice, they would live awake, grateful, bold, and obedient. The message concludes with a sobering question—how can the lost see the Light if the church refuses to walk in it?

This sermon centers on Jesus’ final words on the cross, “It is finished,” emphasizing that Christ came into the world for the sole purpose of completing God’s eternal plan of salvation. Tracing Scripture from Genesis through the Passover in Egypt and ultimately to Calvary, the message explains how sin entered the world, how death was its penalty, and how God, in His love, provided a way of redemption through blood sacrifice—fulfilled perfectly in Jesus Christ. The blood symbolizes both death to sin and new life in Christ, showing that when Jesus died, the debt of sin was fully paid and the work was completed. The sermon calls listeners to remember that Christ’s mission was not tradition or celebration, but to seek and save the lost, urging all to be “behind the blood” before judgment comes, while holding hope that the same Jesus who finished salvation on the cross will one day finish all things and gather His redeemed home.

This message centers on Jesus’ words in John 8:7 (KJV): “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” The preacher uses this moment to challenge how believers respond to the sins and failures of others.

The Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery before Jesus—not because they cared about righteousness, but because they wanted to trap Him. Jesus didn’t deny the law of Moses or excuse the woman’s sin. Instead, He exposed the hypocrisy of her accusers by calling each person to examine their own heart before passing judgment.

Throughout the sermon, the emphasis is clear: Jesus fulfilled the law, but He did so with mercy, truth, and compassion. The problem wasn’t the law—it was people using it as a weapon rather than a mirror.

The message warns against becoming like the self-righteous Pharisees—quick to point out faults, slow to show grace. Using vivid illustrations, including wounded chickens being attacked by their own flock, the preacher shows how believers can harm one another by gossip, harsh words, and judgment. Words, he reminds us, often do more damage than stones.

Several biblical examples reinforce the point, including:

The Samaritan woman at the well (John 4), transformed by grace

The demon-possessed man named Legion (Mark 5), restored and rejected not because he was evil—but because Jesus disrupted comfort

Paul’s instruction to restore those overtaken in a fault with humility, considering ourselves (Galatians 6:1)

The core takeaway is this: forgiveness is not condoning sin—it is reflecting Christ. Jesus didn’t excuse sin, but He also didn’t crush sinners. Believers are called to restore, not destroy; to forgive repeatedly, just as God has forgiven us.

The message closes with a call to self-examination. Instead of throwing stones, believers should stand before the mirror of God’s Word and ask Him to reveal their own hearts. True spiritual maturity shows itself not in condemnation, but in mercy, humility, and love.

This sermon reflects on Isaiah 6 and the transforming power of seeing God’s holiness. The speaker begins with gratitude for God’s mercy and forgiveness, then turns to Isaiah’s vision of the Lord—high, lifted up, and surrounded by seraphim declaring His holiness. In that light, Isaiah suddenly sees himself truthfully: undone, unclean, and unworthy. The message emphasizes that when we truly behold God’s glory, we see ourselves as we are, and that conviction is a gift that leads to cleansing, just as the coal from the altar purified Isaiah’s lips. The preacher warns that today many try to lower God to human terms, avoiding His glory because it exposes sin, yet the church’s calling is to shine with that very glory so the world can see Him through us. God’s reveals, purges, and transforms—and His people are meant to live close enough to Him that His glory is unmistakable.

In this sermon titled “We Need an Anchor,” Jesse Lockhart speaks about the necessity of having a firm foundation in Christ amid life’s storms. Drawing from scripture, he emphasizes that without an anchor, believers are easily tossed by doubt, fear, and the temptations of the world. Just as a ship depends on its anchor to hold steady against the waves, Christians must be anchored in Jesus to withstand trials and remain steadfast in faith. Lockhart urges listeners not to rely on shifting emotions or the words of others but to secure their hope in the unchanging truth of God’s Word.

In this sermon titled “Knowing for Yourself” from John 20, Jesse Lockhart reflects on Thomas, often called “doubting Thomas,” and reframes him not as a skeptic but as someone who desired a personal experience with Christ. Lockhart emphasizes that salvation cannot rest on the testimony of others—it must be encountered individually. He recounts the resurrection appearances of Jesus, the disciples’ joy, and Thomas’ insistence on seeing for himself, drawing parallels to how each believer must personally experience the transforming power of Christ. The message underscores that faith is too serious to rely on secondhand accounts; it is a one‑on‑one encounter with the living Savior that brings assurance and life.
